Job Description:  Pastry Cook III must be able to take direction, prep, and follow through on all assigned tasks. Pastry Cook III must display a level of competency in most types of baking procedures and repetitive skills such as chopping, piping, and station cleanliness. Shows the highest initiative to get tasks completed to the Chef's specifications in a timely manner, employee will be able to follow established recipe and procedures, to exact specification and approval of Pastry Chef. Maintain and organize their station and equipment in a neat and orderly fashion to meet the Chef's expectation. Maintain and contribute to a positive work environment.

 

General Requirements:

  • Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and dressed in accordance with Oak Hill Country Club's appearance standards
  • High attention to detail
  • Respond urgently and appropriately to concerns and requests from coworkers or club house guests
  • Exceptional communication abilities with pastry and culinary teams
  • Able to consistently perform tasks without constant supervision
  • Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers

  • Must perform a cook test for the Pastry Chef and team

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to maintain a clean, neat and organized work environment
  • Ability to follow recipes, to increase or decrease recipe as needed
  • Can properly follow all direction and processes that are in place
  • Can communicate with employees in all departments
  • Can follow all rules and regulations in employee handbook properly
  • Clean and maintain equipment properly
  • Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to bend, kneel, push and pull over the course of a shift
  • All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Oak Hill's appearance standards
  • Must be able to work a flexible shift that includes early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and extended shifts
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation to and from work
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and oral
  • Must be able to periodically lift and carry up to 30 lbs. over the course of a shift

 

Qualifications:

Education: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate

Experience:

  • 1 year experience in baking/pastry field
  • Country Club experience preferred
