Job Description:  The Senior Food & Beverage Manager oversees Oak Hill's Grill Room Restaurant, fine dining services and the Club's wine and beverage program.  The individual collaborates daily with all food and beverage branches to ensure service standards are achieved and that quality is to Oak Hill standard.  The Senior Food & Beverage Manager leads by example and strives to provide first-class services while creating memorable member and guest experiences.  They are career driven and passionate about club management with the prospect for continuous advancement within the organization.


Job Qualifications & Requirements:  The Senior Food & Beverage Manager must have the ability to promote Oak Hill's dining services and have practical knowledge of food and beverage.  Knowledge of social customs and etiquette is essential along with creativity, imagination and initiative. The individual must be detail-oriented and have a strong ability to multi-task and work under deadlines. The Senior Food & Beverage Manager must be able to work with all types of personalities in a diplomatic and pleasant manner while always maintaining a professional presence.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leadership, Development & Training:
    • Leads a team of Assistant Manager(s), servers, food runners, bussers, hostesses and bartenders through hard work, communication, trust and collaboration.
    • Works with the Director of Clubhouse Operations on hiring, retaining, disciplining and evaluating the work of F&B associates to ensure that that everyone is learning, developing and complying with Oak Hill standards.
    • Trains and monitors all associates' performances.
    • Develops and continually updates and refines training material to increase quality of service.
    • Plans and develops training programs and professional development opportunities for himself or herself.
  • Dining & Service
    • Maintains professional relationships with the membership of Oak Hill to achieve personalized service.
    • Ensures member satisfaction scores through member surveys are maintained within guidelines.
    • Works in conjunction with the Director of Clubhouse Operations to determine root cause and develop action plans to correct service breakdowns.
    • Assists in maintaining the dining room reservation system in conjunction with Reception.
    • Manages dining room setups, floor plans and server sections based on anticipated guest count.
    • Inspects the dining room at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure setup, cleanliness, organization and maintenance are to Oak Hill standards.
    • Creates, implements and oversees daily and weekly side work responsibilities for all associates in the Grill Room.
    • Conducts daily pre-shift meetings and quarterly department meetings that review service standards and important food and beverage topics.
    • Works with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Assistant Managers and Communications Manager on menu updates and new menu rollouts. 
    • Works with Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Assistant Managers and Communications Manager to write and distribute daily dinner specials.
    • Develops the budget for the Restaurant Department; monitors financial information and takes corrective action as necessary to help assure that financial goals are met.
    • Provides various reports (forecast, sales, labor, etc.) to the Director of Clubhouse Operations.
    • Works with Assistant Managers on scheduling associates to maintain the service standards while operating within budgeted labor guidelines.  Actively adjusts schedules according to forecasted business levels.
    • Performs administrative duties including daily logs, inventory spreadsheets, supply requisitions, payroll and associate reviews.
    • Works with the Purchasing Manager to ensure par levels of supplies are maintained.
    • Assists with the planning and execution of Club events throughout the year including:  Holiday Picnics, Golf Tournaments, Summer Sizzler, Wine Dinners, etc.
    • Handles complaints in a professional manner from Club members, guests and others relative to the Food & Beverage Department.
    • Other duties may be required as directed by the Executive Team of Oak Hill.
  • Bar & Beverage:
    • Develops and maintains a bar product and supplies inventory system for beverages including wines, non-alcoholic beverages and mixers.
    • Maintains an adequate supply of liquors, wines, beer and other beverages with effective inventory management system.
    • Develops product and revenue control systems and procedures to help reduce theft.
    • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of bar areas, glassware and equipment through regular inspections.
    • Develops standard operating procedures to help assure that bars are set-up and operated efficiently.
    • Maintains and keeps current beverage-related training manuals.
    • Assures that all laws applicable to beverage operations are consistently followed.
    • Works with all F&B outlets to ensure efficient beverage service in all the Club's outlets and for special functions.
    • Interacts with Purchasing Department personnel relative to the procurement and receiving of beverage products and supplies.
    • Manages 100+ private member wine bins.
    • Works with F&B Management to develop wine lists.
    • Inspects to ensure that the Club's sanitation, safety, energy management, preventive maintenance and other programs are implemented and complied with as they apply to beverage operation.
    • Develops the budget for Beverage Department; monitors financial information and takes corrective action as necessary to help assure that financial goals are met.
    • Develops financial records and reports as required.
    • Keeps current with changing member preferences and industry trends relative to the beverage operation.
    • Schedules wine and beer samplings with distributors to continuously improve variety and quality of beverages available to Club members and guests.
    • Monitors bar closing procedures (checklist) and assures that area is secure.
    • Assures that the Club's policies and procedures for selling alcoholic beverages are consistently followed in all beverage outlets and at all Club functions.
    • Schedules maintenance of draft beer tapping, refrigeration and other bar equipment.
    • Other duties may be required as directed by the Executive Team of Oak Hill.
  • Marketing & Communication:
    • Actively develops processes and marketing strategies to increase revenue.
    • Works with the Communications Manager on food and beverage member communications and newsletter articles. 



  • High school or equivalent education required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Hospitality, Culinary, and/or Business



  • A minimum of four years of food and beverage management experience at a resort, club or hospitality establishment
  • Country club experience strongly preferred


Licenses & Certificates:

  • Food safety certification
  • Alcohol certification
  • Wine certification strongly preferred
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits
  • Valid driver's license


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to continuously sit, stand and walk a minimum of 8 hours
  • Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds and perform strenuous work lifting
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, push and pull over the course of a shift
  • All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Oak Hill's appearance standards
  • Will be required to perform job functions outdoors and be exposed to sun, heat, humidity and other elements
  • Must be able to work a flexible shift that includes early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and extended shifts
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation to and from work
